Short but awesome, great textures and such!

the only thing I noticed was how the sky was tagged, its very strange seeing it move when you move, I would recommend tagging it differently.

Also I am not sure if you are going to do this or not but you should had some sort of movement to the lava to make it feel like its alive. I have seen other levels do that but for now it still looks good

Yeah the sky is flagged as sky. Not sure what else to tag it as.
I want to do something like that for the lava, making it move. Presently all I have is the random hiss pop smoke sound thingy.
If you have some idea's feel free.
Sorry about being short. I may still expand it instead of ending at that second cavern.
Thanks for the input.

I like this. The textures, the structure, and yeah the lava should move in some way. Also, I'm thinking maybe instead of just insta-kill sectors, maybe do so that anything that enters is set on "flame" (or at least pulsate heavy smoke).

Oh and there is a sector before "The End" that is not watered.

Thanks edward. I'm guessing you failed the jump puzzle then? lol.

Only the first course. I went around the second one.

But I did run through it a second time with cheats just to test a mod or two.

Yeah I noticed the ledges. Got to add wall slants there. Wasn;t thinking that .05 was enough to walk on lol. Did you jump OVER the pipes at all? I did that once, its actually easy to misjudge on these jumps hehe.

Not sure what pipes you are refering to. Do you have any kind of video chat client (MSN Skype)? I could show you exactly what I went through.

The "Pipes" I'm talking about edward, are the pipes running along the broken catwalk.
I added the smaller pipes to the outside after jumping and slipping off the large pipe several times.

That one I did just fine on.

perhaps do a skybox or what ever its called.... the one where the sky does not move with you... look at the MotS SP level astroid crust and look ho they tagged the sky in that.

In asteroid crust the sky was flagged as 404 (sky other type) instead of the regular 204 (sky) it also makes it scroll. So perhaps I will use that idea for now.

well it doesnt need to scroll... but it does look cool

The way its flagged there looks better than the "moving" sky... it was kind of making me dizzy

Well NOFpuXnk,

I can't say I appreciate the complement.
I will defend my decision by saying this.
I'm designing this for MotS because it allows me the best oppurtunity to make my vision come true.
As an editor I would hope you understand what I'm talking about, I'm certain the other editors would.

And before you go bashing on my choice, please also understand I had intended to do a port to JK once this version was completed.
However it would be a shame becuase alot of the finer details would end up missing.
JK just isn't great at getting that red lava glow.

And since there has been a LACK of MotS singleplayer levels, I hope this can encourage more people to play.
Its my ambition to create for MotS what FastGamerr created for JK with TODOA.

I got the same comment from his as well. Anyway, I liked this level a lot. Good atmosphere, architecture, texture and texture choice. (Which ones you choose is as important as the quality of each .map, and some textures just do not go well with each other!) The fact you didn't put any enemies in the level made it more creepy: just the player and puzzles together can be very good for cerebral gaming.

I will add my comment about the sky: a good texture, but you'll want to change the sky ceiling height in the Episode Header Editor to a lower number, to stop it repeating 'patchwork' style. Overall the puzzles were great: you resisted key searching for a more environmental style of puzzling, like jumping round the lava pit to get past the shielded door. A small side note: watch your sound choices. I think I recall an activate sound being used for the deactivate shield button, such things may seem trivial, but in a level like this one where you're using your brains rather than your blaster, they can be counter-intuitive. Finally, I think you can be a tad more adventurous with the rock sectors. The indoor artchitecture was very believable, but the outdoor areas were a little boxy. You don't have to change the jumping ledges, but maybe cleave those sectors above the player's head slightly?

A great level so far, and I'm looking forward to seeing more!
