This question has come up before in discussion on this site, but I never got to the bottom of the answer. As far as I've been able to make it work, the highest number of frames in a .mat file that works in game seems to be 16. I want to ask others if they've gotten more to work. I never have been able to, but that was a long time ago that I was experimenting with it, and I may have been doing something wrong. Basically I just want to confirm whether my observation was correct or not.

16 frames/cels is the limit for mats. To circumvent this, use more than one mat and a cog to jump between them when reaching the last cel.
