The newest motion blur screenshot is impressive looking, but leaves me wondering if you've gone to a completely 3do-based saber and stopped using a super-wide saber texture to create the alpha blend?

Either way, it's very nice looking. You seem to be good at forcing JK to alpha blend whether it wants to or not.

Lookin good.

If it's not 3do, I'll eat my cogs.

*eats half his cogs*

I'm curious now. How'd you do it?

It's rather simple, really.

JKSetSaberInfo is the best way to make lightsabers glow in a stationary position (at least, to my liking since it always faces the camera and only clips on the tips, and not the sides.) I used it for the stationary lightsaber blades.

The motion blur itself is a 3do. The saber is set to invisible while the motion blur is active, and returns once the saber stops.

With both combined, it gives an amazing feel ingame, I really like how it turned out.

I currently have motion blurs for the Quigon saber and the Anakin saber. I'm working on the rest.

I was unable to use the stretched lightsaber for the motionblurs due to issues with the sabercore. The saber mat is always facing a certain way, but the core deviates from this. It just looks out of place. (a.k.a failed experiment.)

I might be working on the mats to give the core a little bit of a glow to it.

Is the 3do switching swing-specific, or do you use the same sequence for all saber moves? When I made saber trails, I realized I'd have to make trail 3dos for all different movement directions, which proved very annoying.

Also, how does cog-based 3do switching fair over the network?

So far the cog switching over the network is smooth, so it doesn't seem to cause problems (from what I know.)

The 3do switching is controlled inside of a timer. Every time the player swings their saber, the sabercog calls the timer. I have 3 different saber trail settings, one for the secondary fire, one for regular attacks and one for small attacks, like underwater strike.
