This is a topic for those of us who prefer using the program Jkedit rather than Jed.

While Jed may be more powerful, Jkedit is simply easier faster for creating the layout of your level, as you can see what it looks like while you are making it.

of course there is nothing stopping us from using both programs on one level.

Sidenote: I would like someone to give me some information on actually getting Sync ai to work >_>..

i think uve got it backwards my friend..
the real drawback of using jkedit
is that you CANT see what ur making as you edit it

Heh, the nice factor of seeing a preview as you edit, rather than using a window made me drop trying to learn jed fast. Jkedit to me is just awesome.

I think more would of used jkedit if it had been free at start like jed, but ole thomassen waited too long to make the program free.

Guys, I would take my advice and listen to N0F. JKEdit may be OK, but when you want to make beautiful stuff, JED is the answer. I use JKEDIT, I am learning JED, but I am slowly getting there. JKEdit is OK for level creators who want box rooms and think "Yeah this is amazing [censored]". But to be honest, if you want your level to be popular, you need creativity and JED.

Hi Everyone, I was searching the net for some old JK levels I made and
came across this site.

I was surprised to see people still edit/play JK.

Regarding Jkedit, I was "and still am" a friend of Ole and had alot of input into what features it had.

It seemed allot of jed users did not want to take the time to learn another editor.
I could make levels with it just as good as Jed.

I think what turned alot of people off was the money.

He does not work on the program any longer. I have no problems creating "sophisticated architechture ".. and i just started to do some editing last night...I had no problems with it crashing. at what point is the program crashing?

at some complex architechture... LOL... You try and do anything sophisticated and then it crashes lol.... I have to duplicate my JKE project files like loads...

After using the current version on Ole's site, you are correct, it crashes "allot".
I used a older version that was more stable. Anyone know were to download older versions?

I tried that already and it did not work, sorry. But thanks anyway. I might have to just explain the entire mission in one objective. I wonder if the friend of Ole Thomasen would know how this this tool works (Chfireball), but besides that I got this Jkedit down to a science.

Darth Dan : I have seen your post but I am not 100% shure what you are trying to do here.
I have not used this program in "about" 10 years..so im learning it.. again

When do you want the objective's displayed?. when one goal is reached " display second goal"?
Post 14-Sep-2008 17:47

Hm! say like when you first start the game, and you pause and go to objectives, and displays like 2 or more goals that each showing with a unchecked box. btw welcome aboard the jkhub.
