I just finished a massive 3do and it only displays as a tiny grey box textured in dflt.mat. Consistency checker shows nothing. I'm not using any 16-bit textures or any custom textures at all. What's the deal?

I can think of a few.
1: Far too many polygons per mesh. Actually it is the vertex count but no one knows that limit yet, all we know is that 512 triangles is the max.
2: The heiarchi is messed.
3: um.... If it has been through another program that program may have done something, which means re-import into JED and re-export.

I'm sure there's something else, but can't remember what right now.

This page lists the following limits, per mesh, in a 3do file:

512 vertices
768 texture vertices
512 surfaces

Although, it's currently unavailable due to JKHub page redirection problems. But here's a thread where the 768 texture vertex limit is investigated.
