I know this game only got released on GOG 2 days ago but soon you’ll have a whole new batch of people wanting to use your enhancement.

They have clearly solved the 64 bit problem since it works with their vanilla install flawlessly. However, when I tried to run the JKE patch it gives me the not valid 32 bit app error.

After install, their vanilla shortcut points to "C:\Games\Star Wars Jedi Knight - Dark Forces 2\GOGLauncher.exe" 1422286819

Is it possible to run the enhancement on a 64 bit machine with the GOG version?

Thank you.

Search your computer for JK.exe. Can you locate it? What is the folder path?

Thanks for the reply.

Holy moly, they actually included the music.

Steam version u done dropped the ball
Post 10-Feb-2015 13:57

GoG version isnt perfect.
Playlist are wrong.
For example on first level gog version plays 3 tracks
( it must be 2 )
With combination of 2008 and 2013 unnof patches
(2008's patch jk.exe file (generated by patching the retail 1.0 jk.exe)
2013's patch jk.dll file (renamed to jk-extension.dll)
2013's patch ddraw.dll file)
We can get proper widescreen with 32bit color mode
with original lightsabers
on steam or retail version.
(its impossible on gog version)
There is also music patch (in steam forum) which it seems have correct playlists.
The only advantage at that moment of gog version is fullscreen fmvs.

My dream is to play the game in proper widescreen with 32 bit color,
correct playlists and fullscreen fmvs
Is it possible to make 2015 universal patch for single player?.

(sorry if any mistakes
english is not my native language
i learned it 10 years ago )

Fandango - Ok I just picked up JK on steam based on your comments.

Can you provide me some detailed instructions on getting the steam version patched and running with correct music, 32bit graphics, JK Enhanced, Etc.

Will this work on a 64 bit machine?

Does the steam version have video cutscenes at all? Just not full-screen? If not I hope I can find them on youtube.

Thank you for the reply. I can't wait to play this again!

Will this work on a 64 bit machine?

of course

extract this to game directory
http://rghost.ru/8n7DCvFKS

if want to play the game with steam just launch the game from your library.

If want to play the game without steam make a shortcut to jk.exe with
-windowgui command line parameter.

Menus and fmvs will be windowed.

Launch the game,in video options enable 3d acceleration select your monitors resolution in 32bit color.
Enjoy the game with proper widescreen (correct fov, aspect ratio,32bit color)

Music

go to steam forum find topic

[PATCH] Music Restoration

Follow the Instructions.

Fandango - I really appreciate your help. I'm downloading the steam version and the music patch right now. I'll let you know how everything goes hopefully tonight.

Have you had any success with playing MOTS with any of these same fixes (Win7 64bit, widescreen, music, upgraded textures and models, etc.)?

Wish me luck!
Post 14-Feb-2015 03:45

Well I am experiencing some mixed results. I copied the files you provided into the game directory. When I set the display to 1920x1080 it gives me an error that I don't have enough video memory. I was able to work around that with 2 fixes provided in this forum:

http://steamcommunity.com/app/32380/discussions/0/846957366680893679/

Now the game runs in full screen with the HUD in the lower corners of the monitor but the gameplay area only takes up about 2/3 of the screen and the rest of the screen is just black. I also tried 1600x900 and it has the same problem.

Amd specific problem
Yes , Amd drivers breaks compability with some old games
atiumdag also helps to run
(resident evil 1,Incoming)

lol

Excellent! The +/- trick worked perfectly. Thank you.

Is it possible to use upgraded textures and models on Win 7 64 bit?
Post 14-Feb-2015 18:16

i dont know.
I prefer original.
Post 15-Feb-2015 20:26

Fandango - Thank you so much for helping me revisit this amazing game. Now I remember why this is in my top 5 favorite games of all time! I played this for hours last night and I am just getting started.

Can you please help me setup Mysteries of the Sith to work like this?

I have the GOG version of MOTS but I will gladly get it from Steam if you think it's better.

You mentioned learning English 10 years ago and it is quite good. Where are you from?
Post 16-Feb-2015 14:10

About new textures and models
it's pretty simple to use
download Jk enchanced
JKE
extract jke folder to your game directory
download JK Retexture
JK Retexture
and extract it to jke folder
and add command line -path jke
in shortcut to jk.exe.

your dirrectory\steamapps\common\Star Wars Jedi Knight\JK.EXE" -windowgui -path JKE

*note dont use old saves (you need to start new game)

About MoTS
I dont think there is widescreen patch for MoTS
So just use your GoG version.

Models and Textures worked perfectly with your directions. Thank you.

I ran into one other issue where many levels into the game in asked me to insert disc 2. I was hitting "no" on that window and it would take me to the next level without the cutscene. I found a fix for that here:

http://www.reddit.com/r/gaming/comments/f9rh1/modding_guide_star_wars_jedi_knight_dark_forces/

It works perfectly. He also has a pretty good description of modding this game too but you did most of that work for me.

I love searching through games looking for secrets. In most games finding a secret might give you bonus health/armor or a new weapon one level early. It is amazing how finding secret areas in JK is related to Force Stars earned. More developers should try this technique by making hidden areas more meaningful.

Just arrived at the Valley of the Jedi level!
