An Invitation

So I decided that while I am literally in a state of lameness, I will send forth an invitation for all who see to be able to request models to be converted to JK/MOTS compatibility of their choosing. You can post in my forums and request as many as you want, just keep in mind that it takes time, I will try and balance requests with fairness, and I can't make any promises; I will simply try my best. Make sure you have a link for the actual file you want me to convert. JKHUB.org is a good place for JO/JA skins that are fairly easy to convert. This First Order Trooper is the opener to this invitation. Hope you enjoy it, and I hope to see some requests. It's something I can do while sitting around and doing nothing waiting to heal.

I'm Back... For a Bit

Hello Hub. I am home early from my mission actually because of an injury; I fractured my ankle and messed up my teeth falling off a twenty foot ledge while hiking. The plan is to recover and be back out in 6 to 8 weeks, which would end up extending my mission till mid March. Just wanted to post and let you guys know that I'm still alive, and still thinking of the hub, and plan on coming back after my mission. I don't think I'll be working on any projects while I'm home, but I'll be here if anyone needs help with anything on the hub. Keep modding everyone, and will be back modding before too long.

Something Handy

Here's a little tutorial I whipped up that will show you how to convert JO and JA skins for JK and MOTS. Ok, I know it's over an hour, it's a very tedious process converting models. Also, sorry about my boring, monotone voice. As you can tell by the clock in the video, I was up late into the morning finishing it up trying not to fall asleep.

I hope people find this useful and I hope by the time I get back other editors will have learned from this tutorial and be converting their own models to contribute to things like MOTS-E.

I will be moving to Washington for the summer to work where I will have no access to modding. :'( Fortunately I should be able to still hang around on the hub and check stuff out. I shall miss modding for a while.... But it shall return at the end of summer(in thoery). I apologize for my lack of incompleteness of all my stuff. I hope to finish something big eventually. :) Farewell modding, these three months shall hopefully fly by.

Holy Motion Blur

So I hatched an idea when I was trying to figure out what to do with Ogel's room for me. I thought about the motion blur used in Jedi Outcast for force speed and then thought about how fastgamerr used HOM in his TODOA (Which I played through today) quite cleverly and then a child was born. The video says it all.... Kinda... Fraps kinda stinks, and it looks way better in game. But I'm sure you get the idea.

But after a little while I started thinking about motion blur in newer games and quickly turning; and how newer games use it for that very thing. I figured all I have to do is mess with some vector stuff and find a way so that it blurs when you turn at a certain rate. The one problem I have is keeping track of already translucent surfaces, which results in windows becoming opaque. Working on a solution though. Anyways, I'm totally showing off my stuff but I hope you enjoy. I'll dink around with this some more and share my results. Also, you will get to see a sneak peak at my new way of doing muzzle flash. Not during the motion blur though, it looks weird there. But in case you were wondering, yes the muzzle flash was that thing I asked for testers that I never followed through with. For that I apologize; it's still being worked on. But anyways, more to come.....

New explosions finally.

I was able to implement new basic explosions using the new additive blending feature with a few coging tips from Edward. Stay tuned for further updates on this effect. Here's a video for ya. Old vs. New.

A little(Important) Update

Muzzle Flash mod

Here's a mod that gives your guns in Jedi Knight fantastic looking muzzle flash. Use with JKE. put in your mod folder and make sure it's name before your JKE mod alphabetically. Thanks to Shred18 for the JKE models. Enjoy!

Startup cog question

Can you flag the faces of the saber blade in the startup cog to be translucent? Cause if so then you could make a new startup cog for the JK levels and then use Xzero's patch for TODOA and get the saber blending effect.
